- 2 pounds lean stew beef or round steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 (10 1/2-ounce) can of cream of Mushroom soup
- 1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup red wine
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker; stir. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 11 hours. Serve with hot cooked noodles or rice. Double this recipe for a larger crockpot, if desired.From Cynthia: I always double this recipe. Freeze 1/2 for another meal. Freezes exceptionally well, when I let it thaw to room temperature, then I put in slow cooker and set on High for about 1-2 hours to reheat! I also cook double batch of egg noodles or rice, whichever I decide to use and I freeze these as well. Take out freezer and let thaw and then put in micro-safe bowl and heat them up! I usually serve with bread and a salad.
