Crockpot Braised Chicken

Easy braised chicken with Asian flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds chicken, skinned
  • 1 cup chopped onion, divided
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 medium cloves garlic, minced

Preparation:

Trim fat from chicken; wash and pat dry. Place 1/2 cup chopped onion in bottom of slow cooker; arrange chicken over onion. Combine water, soy sauce, chopped ginger, sugar, and garlic. Pour over all. Add the other 1/2 cup of chopped onion. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Makes 6 servings.

"This recipe was horrible. I believe that the measurements are incorrect. It should be teaspoons instead of tablespoons."
