Slow Cooker Chicken With Mushrooms


This slow cooker chicken is easy to prepare and tastes great. The mushrooms, wine, and green onions help to flavor this easy chicken dish.


  • 6 bone-in chicken breast halves, skin removed
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons chicken flavored bouillon granules or chicken base
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced, with green
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • fresh chopped parsley


Wash chicken and pat dry. In a bowl, combine salt, pepper and paprika. Rub over all sides of chicken, using all of the mixture. In a slow cooker, alternate layers of chicken, bouillon granules or base, mushrooms and green onions. Pour wine slowly over top. Do not stir ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours or until chicken is tender but not falling apart. With a slotted spoon, remove chicken and vegetables to a serving platter or bowl. Cover with foil and keep chicken warm. In a small saucepan, combine evaporated milk and cornstarch, stirring until smooth. Gradually stir in 2 cups of the cooking liquid. Stirring over medium heat, bring to a boil; continue to boi for 1 minute, or until thickened. Spoon some of the sauce over chicken and garnish with parsley, if desired. Serve with hot cooked rice or noodles, if desired.
