Chicken with Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 3 to 4 pounds chicken pieces
  • 3 to 4 cups (approx 1/2 head) cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 apples, cored and thickly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • dash ground red pepper

Preparation:

Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Place cabbage in bottom of slow cooker. Top with onion, chicken, and apples. Combine soy sauce, ground ginger, and red pepper. Spoon over chicken and vegetables. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 1/2 to 7 hours, or until chicken is tender and juices run clear.
Serves 4 to 6.

Chicken with Cabbage not worth making, Member roxyg61

This recipe sounded good so I decided to make it for me & my husband. I added more soy sauce & ginger for taste. I don't know why apples were added...they were just mushy. Ended up throwing the rest out.
