Easy, flavorful chicken thighs make an excellent meal and they're easy on the budget. In this recipe, chicken thighs are slow cooked with a well seasoned barbecue sauce. Serve this chicken with coleslaw and potatoes for a tasty everyday meal. Great in sandwiches or on their own with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, or salads.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thick barbecue sauce

Preparation:

Put flour, garlic powder, mustard, salt, and pepper in a food storage bag. Add chicken, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat thoroughly. Heat oil in large skillet; add chicken and brown on all sides. Put half of the barbecue sauce in crockpot; add chicken then add remaining sauce. Cook on low 6 to 7 hours, or until chicken is tender and juices run clear.
Serves 4 to 6.

This was the first thing I cooked in my slow cooker. It was as easy as could be and the chicken was delicious. I will always cook my barbeque chicken this way in the future
