Hearty Chili Recipe

Crockpot chili with ground turkey and beans.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 large cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
  • 12 ounces V-8 juice
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 c. chopped mushrooms
  • 1 sm. jalapeno pepper (optional)
  • 14 oz. stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. uncooked wild rice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 14 oz. chili beans
  • 1 oz. chili seasoning mix

Preparation:

Brown ground turkey and ground beef until no longer pink. Drain well. Place all other ingredients in a slow cooker and add the meat. Cook on low for 5 to 7 hours. Thin with more juice, if necessary. Serve chili with crackers or cornbread.
