Slow Cooker Chili With Ground Beef
This easy, beefy chili is a snap to prepare and cook in the slow cooker.

Yield: Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef, 85% to 90%
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 to 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 large can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 2 cans (16 ounces each) kidney or pinto beans, drained
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder blend
  • cayenne pepper, to taste

Preparation:

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onions. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Drain well. Combine the meat mixture and remaining ingredients in a slow cooker; cover and cook for 7 to 8 hours on LOW, or until done.

Taste and adjust seasonings.
Serves 6 to 8.

Outstanding Recipe .. Can be tweaked to your taste, Member jessmarie4u

I followed ever step on this recipe and it turned out amazing. I added a bit of a Puerto Rican touch by: 1. Before browning the Ground Beef, season it to taste with either your favorite Seasoned Salt or GOYA Powdered Seasoning with Pepper. 2. Add Chopped Cilantro (about 1/2 cup) along with the Chopped Onions and Chopped Green Pepper, and 1 tablespoon Fresh Minced Garlic. 3. Add 1/2 can ROTEL Chopped Tomatos & Green Chili & 3 Bay Leaves .. (Add entire can for a spicier touch) Turns out absolutely delicious! You'll see ... Jess
