Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 8 ounces smoked sausage, such as andouille or apple chicken sausage
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 red or green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (4 ounces) mild green chili peppers
- 2 to 3 tablespoons diced jalapeno peppers, or to taste
- 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes or fire-roasted tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 teaspoon grill seasoning blend
- 2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
