Slow Cooker Apple Crisp Dessert

  • 6 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • .
  • Topping Suggestions:
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Whipped cream or whipped topping


Grease crockpot, arrange slices in bottom. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, spices and butter. Cover the apples with this mixture. Tamp down lightly. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until apples are tender.

Serve in dessert dishes with any or all of the suggested toppings.

Friends said they loved it, Member Freeadvice4u

I followed the recipe with fresh Gravenstein apples and substituted healthy margarine for the butter. It was a little too tart for me, although friends (I took it for dessert with ice cream) said they loved it. Next time if the apples are tart going in, I will add more sugar, maybe dust the apples in sugar and cinnamon. If the apples are sweeter, this would likely be good. I might add pecans or walnuts next time, too.
