Crockpot Chunky Applesauce

Ingredients:

  • 10 to 12 large cooking apples, peeled, cored, and cut in chunks
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar

Preparation:

Combine ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Serve warm, if desired.

"why peel those apples, just cook them until those skins just disappear, thus you receive the added benifits of apple-based antioxidants known as polyphenols. Some investigators have found that procyanidins, an apple skin polyphenol, blocked cancer growth."
