Crockpot ground beef meal recipe.

Ingredients:

 • Sauce:
 • 2 lbs very lean ground beef or turkey
 • 2 tbsp chili powder
 • 4 tbsp sugar
 • 1 large onion
 • half can of tomato sauce (1/2 cup)
 • 3 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
 • 2 to 2 1/2 cups water
 • oregano, cumin, salt to taste
 • Toppings:
 • chopped tomatoes
 • lettuce
 • green peppers
 • grated cheddar cheese
 • sour cream
 • Doritos Chips

Preparation:

Brown ground beef and drain well. Place all sauce ingredients in slow cooker, including drained browned beef or turkey and cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours or LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Stir a few times.

Arrange each plate in this order (bottom to top):

Doritos on bottom meat sauce lettuce tomatoes green peppers Cheddar cheese sour cream for topping.

Will's Notes: Here's a quick and easy recipes recipe you can serve buffet style at a holiday get-together like the 4th of July. This way each family member or guest gets to build their own meal with their personal choice of toppings. The sauce can be made in advance and then simply reheated or frozen for later use. This is adapted from a recipe Fast Frank put up back in January of which our family has made a favorite casual meal.

Should have been called Tijuana Sloppy Joes, Member Buggsy1

I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as taste but being made like nachos, I had Mexican flavor in mind. Nope. Tasted more like sloppy joes which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I guess the sugar should have been a tip. One of my co-workers did say they were pretty good sloppy joes so just keep that in mind when making this recipe. I would make this recipe again but for sloppy joe night not for Mexican pot luck.
