Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef & 1 pound lean pork, or use all beef
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2/3 c. rice (raw)
- 1 tsp. salt
- .
- Sauce:
- 2 1/2 cups tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups water or broth
- 2 tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil
Preparation:
Combine ground meats; add egg, milk, rice and salt. Form into 1 1/2 inch balls; brown in a large skillet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or add a little oil to the skillet. Combine tomatoes, water, onion, salt, basil and bay leaf. Drain excess grease from meatballs and add to sauce mixture. Cover and cook for 7 to 9 hours on low.Serves 6.
