Spicy chicken wings are cooked in the crock pot with honey and barbecue sauce, along with spicy seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings (about 16 to 20 whole wings)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (any variety)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons mustard (prepared or spicy mustard)
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: 1 dash Tabasco sauce (or another hot sauce, to taste)

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Cut off and discard tips from chicken wings. Then cut each wing at the joint to make two sections from each wing. Sprinkle wing pieces with salt and pepper; place the wings on a lightly oiled broiler pan.

  3. Broil (550 F) about 4 inches from the heat for 10 minutes on each side, or until the wings are nicely browned. With tongs, transfer the wings to the crockery insert of a slow cooker.

  4. In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, honey, spicy mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco. Pour sauce over chicken wings.

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or on High 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

  6. Serve hot, directly from slow cooker, keeping the temperature on LOW.

  7. Enjoy!
