Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger, or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 3 to 4 pounds boneless country style pork ribs
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion, with green

"Once the ribs are done, boil the sauce down and it becomes wonderfully thick and sticky. If done with spare ribs, you will have to skim off a lot of pork oil but leave some behind - combine some flour into the sauce while boiling down and it tastes delicious. The sauce mix also works wonders with chicken (I tried it with drumsticks) as long as the cooking time is adjusted accordingly. Flour isn't even needed to thicken the sauce because the chicken gelatin will naturally dissolve in the sauce and thicken it once enough water is evaporated off."
