Slow Cooked Beef for Tacos

Total Time: 10 hours

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds beef roast
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon crushed oregano
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 10 oz can diced green chiles
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes

Preparation:

Place meat in slow cooker, top with rest of ingredients in order given. Cook on HIGH for 5 hours or LOW 10 hours, until meat is tender. Break up meat with a wooden spoon, then cover and cook on low for 2 hours longer. Shred meat thoroughly with two forks and cook for another 30 minutes to 1 hour. Serve rolled in flour tortillas, topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, black olives, guacamole or salsa.

Accidently grabbed a pork roast..., Member mwp62

I accidently grabbed a pork roast, but went ahead with this recipe anyway, and it worked great. Yummy Tacos.
