Sausage Bites in Sweet Tangy Barbecue Sauce

Easy and tasty appetizer sausage recipe, with barbecue sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 pounds fully cooked sausage (chicken-apple sausage, cocktail wieners, etc.)
  • .
  • Sweet and Tangy Barbecue Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon prepared regular or Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Preparation:

Place sausages in a large saucepan; cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer; simmer for about 15 minutes. While sausages are simmering, combine remaining ingredients in the crockpot. Cut sausages into bite-size chunks - about 2 inches or less if they are to be appetizers - and place in the crockpot. Stir to coat all sausage pieces. Cover and cook for 4 to 6 hours on LOW.
