Slow Cooker Sausage With Mixed Barbecue Beans

Pineapple helps add flavor to these beans, along with barbecue sauce and other seasonings. Serve these beans with cornbread or hot baked biscuits for an easy and budget-friendly family meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 to 6 links chicken sausage or other smoked sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 large can (28 ounces) pork 'n beans
  • 1 can (approx. 16 ounces) small red beans or black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can (approx. 16 ounces) pinto beans or great northern, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained

"Yummy! so simple to make and enjoyed by everyone...what more could you ask for!!! I would love to make this for a pot luck supper...so I think I would add a few more sausage and cut them in chunks.. I hope that wouldn't make them too over cooked. The flavor of this dish would make an awesome addition to a family gathering,.,,,glad I foung it!"
