Corn and Potato Chowder
This slow cooker corn chowder gets extra flavor from crumbled bacon.

Cook Time: 8 hours

Total Time: 8 hours


  • 6 slices of crisp-cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups diced potatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 (16 oz.) can cream corn
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can (12oz) evaporated milk


Place all ingredients except milk in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Add milk and cook, covered, for 30 to 45 minutes longer.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.

I made this in about 20 mins. It doesn't take long at all one of the nice things about crock pot cooking. The flavor of the bacon really comes out in the potatos and onions add a nice flavor as well. It's a nice warm meal on a cold winter day it goes well with a nice cracker or some sweet corn bread. delicious!
