Southwestern Bean Stew

Southwestern bean soup recipe is made with bacon, ham, ground beef, onion, ketchup and four cans of beans.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 to 10 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 cup cooked smoked ham, cut up
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 bottle ketchup (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 4 different types of canned beans (16 ounce cans)

Preparation:

Brown ground beef; drain. Fry bacon and drain well. Combine all ingredients in crockpot; cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.
Serves 8.
