Ingredients:
- 1 pound dried navy soaked overnight and simmered for 30 minutes, drained
- 1 hot pepper
- 1 carrot, sliced
- salt and pepper
- 4 cups water
- 1 ham butt (2 to 3 pounds)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 green pepper. diced
- 1 green or red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
Preparation:
Drain beans. Place all ingredients except green pepper and cabbage in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 hours. Turn to high and remove ham. Add green pepper and cabbage. Cook for 2 hours longer on High or until vegetables are tender. Serves 6 to 8.
