Slow Cooked Turkey and Vegetables

Ingredients:

  • boneless turkey breast, about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
  • 1 onion (cut into four slices)
  • 2 small potatoes, sliced
  • 2 small turnips, diced, optional
  • baby carrots
  • 1 package of dry chicken gravy mix
  • 3/4 cup of dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation:

Season turkey with salt pepper and brown on all sides in skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add onion and cook until lightly browned. Spray slow cooker with cooking spray and put carrots on the bottom; continue layering potatoes, turnips and onions. Place turkey on top of vegetables. Mix gravy with the wine and water; heat on stovetop or in microwave then pour over the turkey and vegetables. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours and then turn to LOW and cook 3 to 4 hours longer. Serves 4.
