This crock pot turkey and dressing recipe is made with only four ingredients. It's a simple combination of boneless turkey breast and prepared bread or cornbread stuffing mix that's super easy in the slow cooker. You'll find that it's an excellent alternative to roasting a whole turkey and a delicious option when you want the taste of a traditional Thanksgiving meal but on a smaller scale.

The recipe requires a single turkey breast, chicken broth, stuffing mix, and butter. Serve it with prepared gravy if you like. Use your favorite store-bought stuffing or try a homemade stuffing mix. Whichever you choose, you'll need to prepare it first, which typically involves mixing the dry seasoned bread or cornbread with water or broth and butter. Once that's ready, it's a simple matter of adding everything to the slow cooker, turning it on, and waiting for it to cook. The meal can be ready in about four hours on the high setting, or you can stretch it out to seven hours by setting it on low.

Every stuffing mix is slightly different, so check on it to make sure it doesn't get too soggy. If it does, you can quickly transfer it to the oven and let it cook independently. Alternatively, prepare the stuffing separately on the stovetop as directed by the box or recipe you're using.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-pound) boneless turkey breast, thawed

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1 (6-ounce) package stuffing mix, prepared

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 or 2 (12-ounce) jars prepared gravy, optional

Tip

  • According to the USDA, turkey and other poultry must be cooked to a minimum safe temperature of 165 F. If in doubt, use a reliable instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the turkey breast.
