These are always a favorite at parties, and so easy. Kids love them!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped dates (I used 10 ounces)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cup crisp rice cereal
  • 3/4 cup pecans
  • 1 cup flaked coconut

Preparation:

Mix dates, sugar, butter and egg in heavy skillet. Melt over low heat; cook for about 5 minutes on low heat, until bubbly. Remove from heat; add vanilla, rice cereal and pecans. When cool enough to handle, roll into small balls and roll in coconut.

"These were fabulous! Easy to make and very yummy. This is my first time making them but I have lot of dried apples and imagine that any dried fruit substitution could be made"
