A recipe for date bars with pecans. Scroll down to see more date recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced pitted dates
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation:

Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together; add to egg mixture. Stir in dates and pecans. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish lined with greased waxed paper. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into squares and roll in sifted powdered sugar while warm if desired.
