Vanilla Sauce

Serve this vanilla sauce with bread pudding or any other dessert.

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • dash salt

Preparation:

In small saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in 1 cup boiling water. Simmer, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons butter, vanilla extract and salt; blend well. Serve vanilla sauce warm with your favorite pudding or other dessert.

"according to my knowledge the recipe of vanilla sauce is different from the one which is given here.in vanilla sauce eggs are used..... beat EGG YOLK and sugar together till the sugar is dissolved and then add milk to the mixture and put it on double boiler and keep stirring it till it is thick and then mix the vanilla essence.(the milk used should be heated 1st....or insted of milk cream should be used to get good creamy structure) the recipe given here is of a basic sauce"
