Ingredients:
- 16 ounces fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water or orange juice
- juice and finely grated zest of 1/2 lemon
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preparation:
In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a light boil. Add lemon zest, and strawberries. Heat through and then stir in the butter. Remove from heat and let cool. Chill for serving over ice cream or desserts.
Serves 4 to 6.
