This tasty creamed turkey is extremely versatile comfort food. It can be served over a large variety of items, including toast, puff pastry shells, biscuits, cornbread, noodles, or any other starch that suits you.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms (sliced)
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or more milk)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons pimiento (drained)
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup frozen peas (cooked)
- 3 cups diced turkey (cooked)
- Salt (to taste)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
