Fresh Cherry Pie Filling Recipe

What a great way to use fresh cherries. Here's an easy fresh cherry pie filling recipe. 


  • 5 to 6 cups fresh pitted cherries, about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch


In a saucepan, combine cherries with remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. Cool slightly before using to fill pie shell or other dessert.

I love this recipe... it is simple and delicious. What makes it even better is adding 2 tablespoons of amaretto... YUM!!
