I have no idea what grits are supposed to taste like but this recipe turned out a very nice dish. The recipe was a little difficult at first since I didn't know what was meant by 1 cup of grits. So for anyone else that's confused: 1 cup old fashioned grits requires approx 4 1/2 cups of water then just follow pkg directions. I also added a bit of garlic and onion powder to the recipe for added taste. I topped with more cheddar. It was a very comforting side dish.
