Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef, round or chuck
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 envelope (1 1/4 ounces) taco seasoning mix
- 3 cups Bisquick
- 3/4 cup cold water
- sour cream
- shredded lettuce
- chopped tomato
- sliced ripe olives
Preparation:
Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Brown ground beef and onions, breaking beef up and stirring frequently. Stir in taco seasoning mix. Mix baking mix and water until a dough forms; divide into 2 equal portions. With floured fingers, pat half of the dough into the baking dish. Spread beef mixture over dough in pan. Spread remaining dough over the beef mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Bake, uncovered, at 450° for 25 minutes. Serve garnished with sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and ripe olives.
Taco casserole serves 4 to 6.
