Ham and Broccoli Casserole

This easy, tasty casserole is made with a homemade white sauce with cheese.


  • 1 package frozen broccoli, 10 ounces or about 1 1/2 cups chopped
  • 4 slices cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups white sauce, link to recipe below
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion


Cook broccoli until almost tender; place in buttered casserole. Top with sliced ham. Make white sauce and add cheese to thickened sauce; cook over low heat until cheese has melted. Add remaining ingredients to the sauce; pour over ham and broccoli. Bake casserole at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
Serves 4.

The white sauce ruined the recipe. Also, it never states what size casserole dish to use and if it should be covered or not while baking. The white sauce never thickened, so we had broccoli and ham, with a little bit of cheese. That's how this recipe ended up.
