Camp Fire Pups

Hot dogs are filled with cheese and wrapped with bacon in this grilled or campfire hot dog recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound hot dogs
  • sliced cheese, cut in strips
  • 10 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise
  • toothpicks
  • split hot dog buns, toasted

Preparation:

Split hot dogs lengthwise, not cutting through, and fill with strips of cheese. Wrap 2 strips of bacon around each hot dog and secure with toothpicks. Grill or cook over campfire, cheese side up.
Remove toothpicks and serve in toasted split buns.

Old camp memories, Member Rennyridge

This recipe is what we called ""Pigs in a Blanket"" at Girl Scout camp back in the 1950's. It's always good, no matter how many times I've made it. There's one more ingredient in my recipe, and that's 1 cup of Memories!
