Use this frosting for just about any cake. This recipe will make enough to frost 2 layers.

Cook Time: 7 minutes

Total Time: 7 minutes

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in the top of a double boiler. Beat with electric mixer for a minute, then place the pan over boiling water (make sure the bottom of the pan is not touching the boiling water). Continue beating for  about 6 minutes, or until the frosting mixture will stand in stiff peaks. Remove from the heat and beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla.

hi, when it says sugar it really needs to have powdered/confectioner sugar. Powderd sugar is the right kind of sugar because we used the wrong kind of sugar and it tastes sugary, so now you now what kind of sugar to use.I hope i saved your day!!!!
