This is a quick-to-make seasoning salt when you want to add a spicy flavor
to food. It's so much less expensive than purchasing a spice blend.
Much like Cajun or Creole spice mixes found in stores, this is worth
keeping on hand to sprinkle on meat, poultry, fish or vegetables. I even
sprinkle it on cream cheese and serve it with crackers for a quick hors
d'oeuvre.
Yield: Makes About 1 1/2 - 2 Cups
Ingredients:
- 1 cup salt
- 1/4 cup onion powder
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons white pepper
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
Preparation:
Mix ingredients together well, and store in an airtight container, or
zip-style bag for up to six months. Best stored in a cool, dark place.
