Mock Sour Cream is a sour cream substitute made with cottage cheese and other ingredients. This sour cream substitute is a good option for slow cooking that won't break down or curdle over long cooking times.
Try it using these two variations.
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup creamed cottage cheese
Combine ingredients in blender; cover and process until smooth and creamy. Use in dips or in other recipes in place of regular sour cream. Makes 1 cup.
- 1 cup (8 ounces) creamed cottage cheese or cream cheese
- 1 can condensed cream of mushroom, cream of celery, or cream of onion soup
- 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Blend ingredients until smooth in blender, food processor or mixer. Makes about 2 cups.
