Grape Jelly Meatballs

These sweet and sour meatballs are made with ground beef, herbs, and a sweet and sour sauce made with grape jelly and ketchup.

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons dried leaf oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried leaf basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • .
  • Sauce:
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup grape jelly

"I have made a similar and easier recipe (if using frozen meatballs)....I use the frozen Armour meatballs and for the sauce I just use the grape jelly and ketchup (no lemon juice)......I cook the sauce ingredients in a pan on the stove until melted together (constantly stirring over medium heat). I put the frozen meatballs in a crockpot and pour the sauce over top. Turn on crockpot (low) and stir about every hour for about 3-4 hours. I won a contest in high school with this recipe and my family has been making this for over 20 years. People are put off when you tell them the ingredients, but when they taste it, they change their minds! Great recipe!"
