Heinz 57 Meatloaf

This meatloaf favorite was shared by Connie.


  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs (I use Italian bread crumbs)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • Heinz 57 Sauce for topping


Combine ground beef and all ingredients except the Heinz 57 sauce for topping.

Shape into a loaf (8"x4"x1 1/2") in shallow baking pan. Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour (see note). Allow meatloaf to stand 5 minutes before slicing.
Serves 6.

Connie's Note: I only bake mine for 45 minutes and it seems fine. This is a very good meat loaf. Sometimes I put some sauce on the top before baking.

Delicious!!, Member clshappy

This is similar to my mother's recipe when I was growing up. One day I really wanted meatloaf so I looked it up on here and found this recipe. This was at least 10 years ago and it's still the only recipe I use. Delicious and especially love the ketchup!
