Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • melted butter
  • cinnamon sugar

Preparation:

Mix together the shortening, sugar and egg; blend dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to first mixture alternately with milk; fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full and bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350°. Immediately after baking, roll top in butter, then in sugar-cinnamon mixture; serve hot.
