These no-bake cookies are made with oats and chocolate, along with optional peanut butter and other ingredients. These are so easy to make when you have a craving for candy.

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 4 minutes

Yield: 30 2-inch cookies

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces butter or margarine (8 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons peanut butter, optional
  • 3 cups quick oatmeal or rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:

Place chocolate chips, peanut butter (if used), oats, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a full rolling boil. Boil for 1 full minute. Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal and chocolate chip mixture; stir well. working quickly, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or parchment paper.

Makes about 30 2-inch cookies, or more if you make them smaller. More No Bake Cookies

Not what I'm used to, Member zamh39

I always used a similar recipe with cocoa instead of chips. I was out of cocoa but had chips in my cabnit. THis is much more chocolatey. I didn't add as much sugar nor the vanilla (I don't like it in no bake cookies). I also added more peanut butter. THis addicting...still good, but not the same that I'm used to. I let it boil for a little longer and they set up perfectly. I'd make them again when I'm in need of something sweet and don't have cocoa.
