Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups quick cooking oats
Preparation:
Heat oven to 350°. Place shortening, butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla in mixing bowl; beat well. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add to first mixture. Mix thoroughly. Stir in oats. Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.Optional Additions
