Chocolate Taffy Cookies

Chewy cookies with chocolate frosting, shared on our forum.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. flaked coconut

Preparation:

Sift flour with soda and salt; set aside. Cream butter and sugar, beating until light. Add molasses, egg and vanilla; beat until smooth. Blend in flour mixture. Stir in oats, chips and coconut. Grease cookie sheets; drop batter by teaspoons. Bake at 375° degrees until browned. Frost with chocolate frosting, if desired.
