Pecan Waffles

These pecan waffles are delicious with butter and maple syrup. A great breakfast for any time of the year.


  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • pecan halves


Directions for pecan waffles
Combine eggs, milk, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Beat until well mixed and smooth. Beat in flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Preheat electric waffle iron. Pour batter into hot waffle iron; sprinkle with pecan halves and bake until golden brown. Serve pecan waffles with maple syrup or praline syrup.

Instead of using regular sugar, I used Pennzey's cinnamon sugar instead. I sprinkled 1 teaspoon of chopped pecans into the waffle mold before adding the mixture and sprinkled again on top of the mixture before closing. Baked for 7 minutes to achieve a light crispy brown finish. I am going to try straight cinnamon next time. Flavor was very good with real maple syrup & mesquite smoked bacon.
