Cook Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 to 5 tablespoons butter, softened
- 6 slices white bread, crust removed
- 6 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
- 12 peach halves, fresh or canned in juice
Preparation:
Butter a 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter. Butter bread slices with 1 tablespoon butter. Lay bread in bottom of baking dish; sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of the brown sugar.
Scoop out a little of the center of each peach to hollow a bit more. Arrange peach halves, cut side up, over bread. Place 1/2 teaspoon of butter in each hollow then sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes, until peaches are very tender.
Peach dessert recipe serves 6.
