Buttermilk Pecan Pie

This pecan pie recipe was shared by Debbi


  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 10 in pie shell
  • 3 Tbls flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk


Sprinkle pecans in pie shell. Sift flour and salt together, cream butter in mixer bowl, add sugar 1/2 cup at a time beating well after each addition, stir in vanilla, beat in eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture gradually mixing well after each addition. Add buttermilk mix well. Pour over pecans. Bake 300 degrees for 1 hour. This pie is not as rich as some pecan pies.

This recipe is absolutely delicious. The only thing that I found when I made it, was that it needed to be cooked longer and at a higher temperature. Maybe 325 for an hour and 15 minutes. The middle was a little runny and just needed a little extra time and a little more temp. Overall an excellent dessert!
