Pork Chop and Sauerkraut Bake

This is a well-seasoned mixture of pork chops and sauerkraut, making a flavorful casserole for fall.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag sauerkraut, (16 ounce)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 to 6 pork chops, 1-inch thick
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 ribs celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup beer
