Pork Chop and Wine Bake

Serve this great-tasting pork chop dish with mashed or baked potatoes and your favorite veggies. This pork chop bake is easy to put together and bake.

Total Time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

Yield: Serves 6 to 8


  • 6 to 8 pork chops, 1-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary, crumbled
  • 3/4 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water


Rinse pork chops under cold water; pat dry with paper towels. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper; dredge in flour. Add vegetable oil to a heavy skillet over medium heat. Brown pork chops on both sides; remove to a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish or roasting pan. Cover with sliced onion. Combine thyme and rosemary with wine and water or chicken broth; pour over pork chops. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until fork tender.
Serves 6 to 8.

Pretty simple, Member Nickiern

This was a good meal, but I did not like the way the pork turned out due to the flour though...you can scrape it off or omit the flour and it would probably taste better. It only took about 45 min in my oven to cook. The wine gives it great flavor. I used a chardonnay. Good luck! I am a beginning cook and this was simple and fun and pretty hard to mess up.
