Baked Spareribs and Beans

Pork spareribs are baked then combined with a pineapple sauce and canned baked beans for a perfect one-dish meal the whole family will enjoy. Round this flavorful pork and beans meal out with a tossed salad or coleslaw and freshly baked cornbread.

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 pounds spareribs, cut into 2-rib portions
  • 1 can (14 ounces) pineapple tidbits
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • dash ground cloves
  • 2 to 3 cans (16 ounces each) baked beans, your favorite flavor
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • dash ground cloves

Preparation:

Heat oven to 350°.

Arrange ribs in a foil-lined baking pan.

In a small bowl or cup, combine drained syrup from pineapple, the brown sugar, Worcester sauce, salt, onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, and dash of cloves. Pour over ribs.

Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour, basting frequently.

Remove ribs to a plate and drain off as much excess fat as possible.

Combine baked beans, pineapple tidbits, 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger, and a dash of ground cloves. Pour bean mixture into the baking pan; stir to combine with juices. Arrange ribs over top of bean mixture. Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes longer.
Serves 4 to 6.
