Total Time: 2 hours, 40 minutes

Yield: Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 to 5 pounds pork spareribs

Preparation:

Heat the oven to 325°.

In a small saucepan, heat the butter with the vinegar, water, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and peppers. Cook, stirring, until butter is melted.

Cut pork ribs into serving size pieces. Place the spareribs on a rack in a roasting pan, meaty side up. Roast uncovered for about 1 1/2 hours. Brush with the sauce and continue roasting for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, turning and brushing with the sauce several times.

A great complement to the ribs, Member rmp236

I found this on the internet whilst looking for something different for a barbecue sauce. I marinated the ribs in the sauce for about 4 hours, then placed the ribs and the sauce in a covered casserole dish. I then crossed my fingers. It was great with a good balance between sweetness, acidity and spice. I will definitely use it again. It was not difficult to make and there were no unusual ingredients. (Do you have a cupboard full of ingredients you have used once, and now they sit there?)
