Pot roast recipe with homemade barbecue sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pot roast, about 4 pounds
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

I agree it was rather bland. So, I added red crushed pepper, chili powder, and Emeril's Essence to the barbeque sauce portion of the recipe. I always use chili powder anyway. Made the recipe much better.
