Quick Praline Bars

Praline bars made with brown sugar, graham crackers, and butter and pecans.

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 24 graham cracker squares
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Preparation:

Heat oven to 350°. Arrange graham crackers in single layer in ungreased 15x10x1-inch jelly roll pan. Heat brown sugar and margarine to boiling; boil and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over graham crackers, spreading evenly; sprinkle with pecans. Bake until bubbly, about 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into squares.

something missing, Member nana.2012

i made these for a bake sale at work. i had made a toffee dessert similiar to this two months ago but used a receipe that called for saltine crackers a co-worker gave me. A total disaster!!!! as i was baking it i thought my pan is ruined, and i was right. The toffee stuck to the pan as well as the crackers!!!!! Why wouldnt it call to line the pan with non stick foil? So I made these for a bake sale at work using the regular and chocolate graham crackers, and I did use foil but not the non stick kind, still kind of a chore to remove them from the foil once it cooled. So.... will i make this again, yes, it was still a big hit at the bake sale, they bought them all!!!! However the regular graham crackers taste way better than the chocolate graham crackers. And i will be sure to take time to get the non-stick aluminum foil.
